Subject: "System Booting" Failed Firmware Update
Okay I managed to bork the firmware update. Don't know exactly what went wrong but the connection dropped mid through and now alas the NAS now just shows "system booting" and I can't get it to a browser usable state.

It currently has 2 x 500GB drives in it set as RAID 1 (mirrored). My questions are:
1/ How can I resolve the firmware issue or get it back to a usable/functioning state.
2/ What's the process for recovering the data if I can't get the NAS back to normal?

I am quite fresh faced with on these kinds of things and getting it set-up initially was quite a chore, so would appreciate any detailed advice.

P.s. anyone found a website that actually has the latest firmwares for this product?

Okay I'm looking through the unbricking guides but I still have a few issues:
http://mrt.nas-central.org/index.ph...ble_with_telnet

On the quad giga nas, can I only get to the device bootloader through hardware access? Does elnet not work?

Also where the hell is the repository for the firmware? The embedded systems page doesn't list it???

Which version of the firmware did you use? And where did you get it? I'm having some issues with 1.5TB drive support -- the system wont give me an option to create a raid set, only use them individually...

I'm about to embark on breaking this system in bits and pieces and setting up regular linux on it... figured I'll ask before i start it
